Caterpillar Indonesia Batam has an exciting opportunity available as an Operation Group Manager based in Batam, Indonesia.
As an Operation Group Manager at Caterpillar’s Indonesia Batam, you will direct an assigned production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality parts to meet established production requirements. You will own and sets the overall direction for the value stream(s) in your given area, with overall responsibility for PQVC (People Quality Velocity Cost) performance of the value stream(s) including Production System assessment scores.
As the Operation Group Manager, you will:
Ensures effective operation of an assigned area of manufacturing to meet established schedules and production requirements while maintaining cost. Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines and manpower to achieve manufacturing cost, quality and inventory management target.
Monitors customer delivery performance, cost reduction programs, lead-time improvements, and quality improvement projects that will enhance customer value and business unit results.
Establishes cost and quality goals and ensures the efficient integration of factory, logistics, maintenance and quality to achieve targets for assigned area.
Ensures proper direction and supervision of activities in assigned area to maintain effective utilization of personnel and machinery.
Determines needs and coordinates actions required to maintain standards of efficiency, quality and safety in area supervised.
Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, etc.
Promotes development of people through continued education, employee involvement, increased responsibility and ergonomics. Trains new supervisors on manufacturing quality. Sets goals and assists team in meeting quality goals/standards.
Position should have good working knowledge of labor rules and regulations.
Additionally, you will have responsible in Caterpillar Production System:
Manages multiple sections and reports to the Operation Manager.
Owns the Continuous Improvement process, making sure new ideas are generated, worked and implemented, and any roadblocks are eliminated.
Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members.
Develops detailed near-term and long-term production plans.
Drives root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production.
Performs periodic audits for safety behavior, 5S, quality and MQ12005 (Caterpillar Quality Certification Process), standard work, productivity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
The successful candidate must bring :
Proficiency in English.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in any Engineering subjects or manufacturing related subjects.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in manufacturing industry, preferred from heavy industries company or automotive industry.
At least 5 (five) years prior experience with supervision and leadership.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and tools, machine shop operations, equipment and general manufacturing operations.
Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills.
Experience in strategic planning and h ave a good analysis skill.
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
