Summary:

The work schedule for this position is Full Time 40 hours per week


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time 4 weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Perform full journeyman level in painting trades for the facility management unit at the U.S. Consulate General Surabaya. Perform duties maintenance and repair involved in surface preparation, coating, painting, finishing, and refurbishing all exposed surface of buildings, structure, and furniture of various U.S. Governments properties (out of wood, steel, plastic, or other kind of material).


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Three years direct experience in maintenance, repair, and construction of painting type of works.


JOB KNOWLEDGE:


The job holder must know standard USG rules and regulations. The jobholder must have a thorough knowledge of paints, solvents, and paint additives. Should have a general knowledge of construction, maintenance, and safety procedures in work related areas. The jobholder must know some local sources of "materials and products". The jobholder must possess an advanced knowledge in painting and must be enthusiastic to learn new technology. The jobholder must understand the aspects of different jobs and must learn how to fulfill and complete various job requirements accordingly.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Minimum High School Diploma

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Limited Knowledge in English (Level II) and Good working knowledge in Bahasa (Level III). This will be tested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


Must be highly skilled in the proper use and selection of materials, tools, and all equipment associated with the painting trade equipment (pneumatic spraying, brushing and sanding machine) including the safe use, operation, and erection of ladders, scaffolds, and other elevated work platforms (hydraulic man lifting, other aerial working platform). Must be able to properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the job activity. Must be able to conform to established safety and health policy and procedures.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

COVID-19 Requirements for Eligible Family Members

As required by Executive Order 14043, Eligible Family Members who will be employed on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Temporary Appointment (TEMP) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law.
