B2B Market Research Analyst (Freelance)

Project Tasks:

  • Market Overview: Gather and analyse market information on products and services, Route To Market (Optimum ways to get client’s products into the market) and Key Competitors
  • Partner Search: Gather company information and generate an MS Word Report (short company profiles) and a short Excel file (summary of companies profiled in the MS Word company profile report). Company profile to include: Company name and contact details of person-in-charge; Nature of business and products, Distribution network.

Target Partners:

  • Local Consultant Engineering Firms, that employ structural engineers for building services. Structural engineers are responsible for specifying client systems, and it is these companies that give the green light for the use of client systems on a project. Client would like to engage with these firms and present its systems to give them potential solutions for projects they are delivering.
  • Installing Contractors. Those companies that follow the specifications of the Consultant Engineers. Typically, these will be Mechanical & Electrical building service engineering firms. Client would like to engage with these companies and assist with delivering technical support and materials.
  • Local wholesalers that specialise in supplying to the above M&E contractors. Typically they will supply building service components. It is these companies that will typically receive enquiries for client system. Client would like to engage with these firms to help provide technical support for the correct use and supply of client systems.

Information Sources:

  • Conduct own B2B primary and secondary research (cold calling, desk research [Internet, library, industry associations, and other sources];

Deliverables:

  • Weekly progress memo by email;
  • Market Overview by end of week 3;
  • Partner Search by end of week 8.

Sample Size of Partner Companies to Identify: between 10 to 20 companies.

Project Duration: 8 weeks.

Work Experience: Strongly prefer sales & marketing or B2B market research experience.

Academic Qualification: Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Economics, Sales & Marketing, Finance/Accountancy, or equivalent.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal skills and selling skills.
  • Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and basic quantitative analysis skills.
  • Report writing.

Required Language(s): English and local language a must.

Relevant Work Experience: At least 3 years of working experience in B2B market research or business analysis is required for this position. Applicants should be locals or foreign citizens who speak local language and physically stay in the target country.

Fee: SGD$300 (whole project lump sum)
