Job Description

Experienced team-player Pattern Maker who can create samples based on sketches and descriptions with our development team. Must have knowledge of a wide range of fabrics and categories, knowledge of draping and working on manual/CAD.

Pattern Maker:

The Patternmaker is responsible for bringing designs to life in a tangible manner by working closely with the Creative Design and Technical Design teams while creating and maintaining the fit, form, function, and specifications of the garments. Their main responsibility is to create 1st through production patterns that reflect standard fit and specs while executing Design's vision and ensuring said patterns are ready to be adapted for bulk production.

A Day in the Life:

  • Execute 1st through production patterns according to design requirements using established base patterns in all silhouette categories
  • Create 1st through production specs and initial sewing instructions
  • Collaborate with Creative Design, Technical Design and Sample Room to establish style construction standards
  • Work with sample room to execute fit and sew-by samples
  • Participate in fittings and execute needed revisions with Creative Design and or Technical Design on assigned styles
  • Review Production approval samples and update sample and specifications for production
  • Evaluate fit of sample on dress form and on live model(s)
  • Other duties upon requests

What you bring to the table:

  • 3-5 years experience in manual and CAD
  • Excellent patternmaking and grading skills for womenswear, menswear, and kids in various woven fabric types
  • Proficient in CAD specially Optitex system
  • Experience also in providing pattern manually
  • Exceptional understanding of garment construction and fitting
  • Ability to translate sketches into three-dimensional designs
  • Have knowledge of stitching technical
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, must be task-oriented and organized
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible in terms of changing priorities and dealing with multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to work with internal and external departments, including but not limited to engineering, production, and off-site manufacturing facilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Competitive Candidates have:

  • AA Degree in Patternmaking or comparable experience preferred
  • Might be added as A diploma degree from a known fashion schools would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in computerized grading preferred
  • CAD experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of 3D Visualization Technology is a plus
