1. Operational Management:
a. Advises and supports managers in all key commercial decisions
b. Provides leadership in financial planning and decision making to ensure maximisation of
shareholders value
c. Accountable for the integrity of the financial results of the company
d. Ensures compliance with all Linde accounting and local accounting standards.
e. Ensures the existence of a robust financial controls environment and promoting ownership of
financial controls within the company including process compliance and tax compliance
f. Monitors financial performance and provides financial expertise to line management in the
development of corrective actions for target achievement
g. Responsible for directing, leading and coordinating the budgeting function including
organisation of budget systems and procedures for compiling, monitoring and analysing
consolidated annual plan and for monitoring performance against plan
h. Evaluates and challenges the business plan and capital expenditures, always striving for highly
profitable and sustainable growth
i. Manages Linde’s tax and treasury practice within the Cluster, closely cooperating with corporate
tax and treasury departments
j. Manages corporate services within the Cluster, ensuring operations are as per companies rules
and regulations
k. Ensures good corporate governance including compliance with statutory requirements
l. Actively coordinates Productivity projects and provides financial expertise in other major
projects like pricing initiatives, restructuring efforts, etc.
m. Builds the local interface and support for corporate M&A projects and other corporate initiatives.
2. Lead and Guide Team:
a. Manages, strengthens and further develops, together with HR function, the finance staff to build
and maintain a strong finance team.
3. Demonstrates cost responsibility, ensuring Finance teams have the tools, training and resources to
optimise performance
4. Advocates best practice and support continuous improvement activities.
5. Performs other tasks or initiatives as directed by line manager.
