Job Description


The role

We are looking for a Head of Sales to join our Sales team in the Global Forwarding division. You will take overall responsibility for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Relations. The role will focus on developing & executing the Sales strategy to achieve set budgets & targets, building & leading the Sales function to achieve economies of scale and be responsible for overall performance while maximizing profitability.

As a Head of Sales, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing country sales plan in line with global sales & product strategy to optimise company’s capabilities & resources and achieve set sales targets & budget
  • Leading, mentoring & developing the Sales organisation to ensure right people in key roles
  • Actively engaging with Product Managers to create initiative plans / products to achieve set Sales targets
  • Implementing latest IT tools available within the Sales organisation or clients of strategic importance
  • Coaching the sales team and fully utilizing team’s resources. Identifying underperforming segments and recommend solutions for improving performance / quality
  • Attracting new opportunities and develop existing clients to generate additional volume & profit. Overseeing contract preparation & deal negotiations, ensure compliance to company standards.

Qualifications


About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Marketing, Sales, or related field of study and at least 5+ years of relevant working experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding operations & markets, strategic thinking and strong networking abilities
  • Strong selling & presentation skills and solid experience in working in a diverse cultural environment
  • Team building and team management experience
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
  • Good negotiation skills to close contracts with customers
