Job Summary


Reporting to the Asia HR Head, the incumbent will be a key member of the Asia HR Leadership team and Country Management Team and will be primarily responsible for leading the Country HR team

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Being a strategic advisor and thought partner for the assigned GBU leaders and function leaders by proactively anticipate business needs and develop GBU and Country HR strategy to support business needs. He / she is expected to lead the Country HR function by :

  • Having a strong understanding of the business and market situation

  • Applying best practices in handling current and emerging people issues to achieve business excellence

  • Maintain a close working relationship with managers in the client group to educate, guide and facilitate them on the HR processes and programs.

  • Acting as change agent to support strategic initiatives on transformation and change activities including but not limited to an agile transformation. Challenge and coach senior business leaders on how to engage team, address people issues and build people capabilities effectively.

Talent Management:

  • Partner closely with Talent Management/Talent Acquisition COE to proactively anticipate the immediate and future business needs of the organization and ensure bench strength readiness. Build on the employer brand to attract top talents and develop effective sourcing strategy and resource pipeline.

Learning & development: Partner with PDLi Partner to drive a learning culture by promoting learning initiatives and activities. Formulate the L&D plans and ensure programs are executed.

Performance management: Drive a high performance culture through execution of performance management programs, including talent reviews and rewards program.

Employee engagement: Drive employee engagement through initiatives that includes companywide communication, focus group sessions, one-on-ones, and employee surveys etc. Foster a conducive
environment for positive employee experience.

Rewards: Ensure that the rewards strategy is cost effective and aligned to corporate policies and market practices with strong partnership with Reward and Performance COE. Regularly review the compensation and benefits practices in the respective countries to ensure relevance and competitiveness.

Ensures compliance of HR practices and programs in relation to local statutory requirements and Corporate policies and compliance with local labour law.

Organization development: Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; providing management with HR insights, and recommendations to organization
strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives. Develop the talent resource road map in tandem with the business need. Participate in organization design discussion.

Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values. Supports
management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions.

Fiduciary responsibility: Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances.

Represents Country and employees’ interests with corporate and management.

Education Qualification

  • A strong academic foundation with at least a Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant discipline from a reputable university

Experience & Knowledge

  • 12 to 15 years’ experience in human resource management, preferably with multinational corporations in the pharmaceutical space.

  • At least 3 to 5 years in a leadership capacity

  • Well rounded experience in leadership development, compensation, employee relations, business and culture transformation, and change

Skills & Core Competencies

  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills with to lead the team in providing strategic and creative facilitation, consulting and coaching to business leaders and staff

  • Skilled with change processes in complex systems with ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of businesses

  • Resourceful and mature individual who is self-driven and possesses strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, analytical skills and interpersonal skills

  • Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate operational, technical or financial information to various audiences (non-technical, executive leadership etc...)

  • Strategic and yet willing to be hands on when needed. Service-oriented, ability to work under pressure and high adaptability to different working conditions and environment. High degree of resourcefulness and creativity in providing stakeholders with solutions and in improving employee experience. Action and results oriented.

  • Ability to bring best practices in human process analytics and improvement.

  • High professional standards with proactive ability to articulate and interact with end users and senior management for excellent HR business partnering, customer service and work quality.
