Job Description

This position has objectives to improve and bring new business insight/answer by utilizing Data Science capability in order to answer business questions or business problems.


What we ask

  • University graduate
  • 6+ years working experience and relevant track record working in dynamic environments of which at least 3 years of experience working as a data scientist or data analyst.
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms and experience with common data science toolkits
  • Advanced analytics – Market mix modeling, Price elasticity, forecasting (360 Marketing)
  • Experience in R/ Python with machine learning/ Neural network algorithms
  • Experience using business intelligence tools
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
  • Accurate overview of digital sales & marketing solutions
  • Strong communicator to various levels as well as business departments
  • The ability to empathize with creative, technical and business needs, and balance these against considerations of time and cost
  • Has expert technical knowledge (statistical models and data science techniques) and has broad knowledge of all business processes.
  • Able to translate & communicate the complicated ML model to non-technical users.

Vacancy description
  • Develop the strategy for the assigned domain(s)/solution(s) and contribute to the development of the strategy on a/one level higher, in line with Business & DTA strategy
  • Develop an operational plan for the appointed domain(s)/solution(s), taking user needs and business objectives into account; as well as the predefined strategy one level higher, and, ensure the implementation within time and budget.
  • Co-create solutions (next to business key users), policies taking user needs & business objectives into account.
  • Advise clients in terms of fully understanding their business problem and derive on a fitting solution. Furthermore, develop and/or execute an adoption & training plan for the solution derived
  • Generate, in cooperation with others within and outside FrieslandCampina, ideas for innovation, translate viable ideas into plans & execution
  • Explain and convince internal parties beyond content driven arguments; also appeal to interest, culture and level of others. Successfully implement medium complex changes.
  • Has advanced technical knowledge related to the job role. Pro-actively shares ideas and insights across the team.
  • Design strategy for analytics products from pilot to rollout


Organize & leadership

  • Integrate digital analytics data with traditional data sources & build predictive models to target the right customers.
  • Responsible for executing diagnostic & predictive analytics based on both big data analytics and providing dashboards to speed up decision making
  • Work with other departments to translate the technical analysis to commercial discussion
  • Coach and provide advice related to career growth and planning for junior data scientist


Capability building

  • Build capabilities for Data Science teams to effectively develop Data Science solutions within the OpCo.
  • Share knowledge and information of analysis techniques and data coding with other staff and train, if needed
