Job Description

SEA Creative Music Lab: Market & Partner Development SEA team serves as the hub for all Music Licensing, Content Partnerships, Producing, Distributing & Re-purposing of Owned Content IP and Special Projects within Southeast Asia. Working with teams across the organisation, Market & Partner Development SEA enables music content to be repurposed in meaningful ways within the ByteDance ecosystem and ByteDance brands to champion music out in the world whilst generating revenue for the company.

  • Responsible for finding and signing new music talent. Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent review process that is required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent
  • Need good judgment to make decisions about the likelihood of commercial success, and the negotiating skills to ensure they get the best deal for the company while supporting the artists' ambitions
  • Responsible for sourcing and selecting trending music and demos for releases. Decisions must be based on sound knowledge, research and understanding of music in the region, through understanding music and the contemporary music scene, and knowing how music works and how albums are recorded and produced.
  • Responsible for the budget of each project and production cost. Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements and oversee tracking of costs in order to meet budget
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives - Creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Manage the quality of production and coordinate the various types of content and format request.
  • Establishing professional relationships with clients and external organisations
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress. Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Aligning with Marketing team on advertising strategies
  • Utilise industry's best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • To facilitate licensing for the expansion of SEA Covers & Originals Project
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the entertainment and music industry with a deep understanding of the deal structures for advertising, branded content, and social platforms.
  • Knowledge of music licensing; mechanical and synchronisation
  • Demonstrated understanding of territorial nuances and ability to execute for both local and global campaigns.
  • Highly organised, detail oriented, process master, capable of concepting, implementing, and maintaining large scale processes with cross-functional input.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills, particularly implemented in a cross-functional and global role.
  • Strong sense of accountability and follow-through, with the ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
