You will be part of our Asia South Office (ASO) Commercial Desk team and will be based out of our Jakarta office. As a Finance specialist, your responsibilities will include that of an Engagement chief financial officer (CFO) who closely collaborates with engagement directors (EDs) and consulting teams, our clients, as well as other Finance functions or other departments across various McKinsey offices.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for the overall commercial and financial management of client engagements throughout the Engagement Life Cycle (ELC).
In this role, you will provide coaching, consultation, and highly technical analytical support to the engagement directors and consulting teams, Finance and Accounting team in Southeast Asia offices, across different functions. You will be the single point of contact supporting leadership.
You will advise and shape pricing strategies, support development of engagement budget and help address financial/commercial risks. You will prepare and help navigate the consulting teams through investment committees questionnaires, meetings and reviews, ensure engagement budget and resources are commensurate with the engagement fees and exposure. You will review contract commercial terms and support alternative fees arrangement by proposing baseline determination, impact level definition, impact tracking and measurement period, deliverable acceptance, etc. You will support design and set-up of program level engagement charge codes, aligning with firm’s policies and local tax regulations .
You will manage a portfolio of large alternative fee engagements and conduct routine check-in with assigned consulting team leaders. You will track, forecast, and provide performance review/ modelling of engagement status vs. plan and update investment committees as necessary, and play a pivotal role with all stakeholders. You will collaborate and align with client’s finance team on deliverables acceptance process, resolve any issues that may arise and provide engagement impact calculation and reconciliations to enable invoicing. You will monitor and analyze billing and collection aging. You will also work with EDs to ensure invoices are sent per scheduled, accounts receivable (AR) collected on time and follow-up on outstanding ARs with clients
You will forecast reserves and value adjustments on a monthly basis, review forecast vs. actual upon the availability of preliminary results. You will drive processes and stakeholder behaviors to ensure compliance with global revenue policies. You will assist ASO Finance leadership in implementing Finance transformation initiatives across seven Southeast Asia offices. You will collaborate with country Finance teams and Corporate Tax team with regards to the aspects of internal/ local statutory/ tax / ad-hoc state audits
You will mentor junior analysts and help train team members in our center of excellence. You will take on other ad-hoc responsibilities that may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or a certified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA) equivalent
8+ years in finance field or relevant experiences
5+ years of experience working directly with senior leadership; in a multinational/ highly-matrixed professional services environment would be an added advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Access
Excellent in project management, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data visualization skills
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and drive desired outcome
Exposure to analytic tools such as SAP Cloud Analytics, Tableau, OBIE, SQL and Access queries would be an added advantage
Exposure to local procurement and contracting process with Indonesian SOEs would be an advantage
Fluent in both English and Bahasa language - verbal and written communications
Maintain, distribute, and record petty cash, cashier banks, and contracts.
