Role purpose:

The Senior Proposal Engineer, HVAC will ensure proficient bid handling when it comes to complex bids in project sales and ensure smooth handover of won bids to the project delivery team. Coach and train local teams to be able to handle more and more complex bids on their own. Where needed assume overall responsibility to handle, coordinate, and administer the proposal effort on selected project proposals from the Bid/No Bid approval cycle through to submittal of the Bid to the Client. To include negotiations, jointly with the appropriate Manager/Director. The position is part of a virtual HUB being responsible for supporting complex bid handling on regional level


The ideal candidate will directly report to the 1Office Commercial Excellence Lead for Commercial Building Services and will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia.


Responsibilities:


PROCESSES

  • Ensure a high level of awareness to, and operate within, the Global Project Sales CoE proposals & execution processes, including the usage of the required document control system, and continuously support business improvements
  • In collaboration with local sales teams, peers from regional hubs and management, develop and implement strategies, tools and processes associated with the project sales opportunities and proposals and continuously support development of project delivery activities in the local sales organization.
  • Project Coordination at post sales stage


PROPOSAL

  • Interpret and clarify with others on contractual, commercial, legal, and technical terms and conditions and required deliverables to comply with the client tender requirements taking direct responsibility in coordinating and implementing the work to achieve a compliant Proposal.
  • Handle, review, and negotiate procurement strategies with relevant sub-suppliers and sub-contractors with supply agreements, securing alignment of service levels, and still ensuring a quality offering while handling risk
  • Understands contract conditions, Grundfos policies associated with contractual terms and handles the risk accordingly
  • Develop project cost build up by consulting with internal and external supply chain to ensure robust and up-to-date pricing thus meeting our proposed service levels on price, quality and scope.
  • Engages with the customer in the commercial close out of the opportunity to ensure all technical and commercial aspects of the project are addressed.
  • Review Proposal Summaries and contribute to the presentation of the Proposal for internal review and approval in line with Global Project Sales CoE governance model ensuring a smooth handover of profitable proposals to the project delivery team.


SOLUTION

  • Develop technical solutions in collaboration with Grundfos product experts and 3rd parties by understanding the products and services sold, their application, and systems.
  • Package projects with Grundfos and non-Grundfos products to offer added value to the customer with an awareness to capture contract variations and therefore maximizing opportunities for margin


IMAGE

  • Understand Customers requirements either communicated via phone, e mail or other media handling customer issues when these arise.
  • Be a Project Sales role model, supporting Sales Engineers with technical / contractual aspects in face-to-face customer meetings where appropriate and by establishing one ‘work win’ mentality
  • Be a knowledge transfer partner to local bid teams to ensure knowledge build up as the local market growths enabling them to handle more and more complex bids by themselves.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, construction science, or relevant discipline
  • Proven subject matter expert as estimator or similar position, including P&L knowledge, specifically opportunity and quotation management with an effective technical background and experience within Plumbing and Sanitation, Engineered to Order, Packaged Plant Rooms, Packaged Pump Houses and Building Management Systems.
  • Efficient communication skills, negotiation abilities and innovative organizational skills.
  • Subject matter business and technical experience, with an effective ability for enabling productive communication between groups
  • Proficient with Microsoft office and Notes Packages
  • Project management experience would be an advantage
