YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

Project Support Coordinator provides support for management, financial and administration aspects of USAID-SEGAR funded activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Specific duties include:

  • Support project management, project financial & project administration of SEGAR-funded activities, including scheduling/coordinating meetings/workshops, coordinating internal and external working groups, distributing notes from meetings and supporting development of presentations and communications materials.
  • Support day-to-day administration, financial management, annual planning and overall coordination of the project, including:
    • (i) coordinating procurement of materials, supplies and services (travel, meeting, FCPA, contract, filing documents, and others)
    • (ii) researching and selecting sources, controlling prices and quality
    • (iii) maintaining contact with suppliers for information affecting prices, availability and delivery
    • (iv) working closely with Grants Specialist on finance and administration issues and ensuring that award monitoring meets the standards of YKAN, USAID and government rules
    • (v) working closely with Finance Manager to review transactions, ensure appropriate match transfers are completed, monitor accounting reports and account balances

RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE

  • May supervise administrative and professional staff with responsibility for project management, project financial & project administration
  • May lead or monitor work groups consisting of staff, interns, and volunteers covering a wide geographic area
  • May need to gain cooperation from outside parties to accomplish program goals
  • Financial responsibility includes working within/managing a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development
  • Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements
  • Provide a variety of information to staff and others, contributing to conservation projects and assisting workflow throughout the organization
  • May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances
  • YKAN may, from time to time, assign the Employee to another location(s) in accordance with the requirements of the Employee’s job description and/or YKAN’s operational needs. The Employee agrees to work in such other work location(s) in Indonesia

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years’ experience in related field (e.g. international development, agronomy, business administration, conservation biology) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of climate change issues
  • Highly developed ability to synthesize and communicate information to businesses and other stakeholder groups
  • Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Web browsers, etc.
  • Technical experience with contracting and accounting issues
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems
  • Experience assisting in the development of and management of program budgets
  • Experience in developing, directing, and managing public funded projects

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in overseeing multiple central finance and administrative processes, such as the management of central filing, general purchasing requests
  • Experience in developing, reviewing and administering contracts and/or agreements
  • Ability to communicate and work closely with conservationist, scientists, and project leaders
  • Awareness of current trends and practices in conservation, land management and natural resource preservation
  • Completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s)
  • Managing time and diverse activities under deadlines while delivering quality results
  • Excellent communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages

Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers."
