Project Overview

Pluto Train is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~ 225 Terajoules per day. On 1 January 2022, Woodside issued Full Notice to Proceed (FNTP) to Bechtel (Western Australia) Pty Ltd and Bechtel International, Inc (Bechtel) for the Pluto Train 2 Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope of work. Woodside is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

51 modules for the Train 2 gas processing train will be constructed at a Module Fabrication Yard located in Batam Island, Indonesia.

Position Overview

Bechtel is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Superintendent to join the Pluto Train 2 Module Fabrication Team in Batam Island, Indonesia

What you bring

• Project Preventative Maintenance Superintendent, reporting directly to Lead Mechanical Superintendent, schedules manpower and oversees equipment preservation & maintenance activities occurring in all areas of the project.
• Develop & implement project wide equipment preservation and maintenance program
• Order consumable materials needed to perform and maintain equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations
• Assure consistency of work process across the multiple areas
• Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
• Approves craft time records using established automated tools
• Monitors the activities of any delegated subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
• Update mechanical equipment project procedures and Inspection & Test Plans, as required
• Provide problem resolution and inspection of field installations that are common across multiple areas
• Prepare reports and forecasts for the mechanical discipline
• Work with the material suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
• Assist in preparing permanent plant material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings, as required
• Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure the delivery of vendor materials to support the project schedule.
• Assist in tracking permanent plant items received & assist in receipt inspection of permanent plant materials

About you

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance processes and systems.
• Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities, as well as plan and organize work while maintaining schedules and timelines.
• Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable
• Experienced at managing site safety and quality control
• Experience working effectively with managers and co-workers, and to form effective partnerships to achieve desired outcomes.
• Experience in a service organization responding to customer needs, requests and issues while utilizing a high degree of discretion, tact, judgment and diplomacy.
• Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate technical language in non-technical terms.
• Experience with personal computers and associated software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications.
• Experience working in a construction and maintenance environment.

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
