For Lawyers and attorneys supporting the commercial side of the business including contract development and agreement management, external customer sales of products and services, government contracting. Positions requiring thorough understanding, application and mastery of approaches, theories, methodologies and application in a concrete organizational context.
As a Legal Contracts Counsel, you will be responsible for:
Providing legal services related to customer contracts and subcontracts within an assigned Baker Hughes division or other regions of the world.
Reviewing, drafting, and modifying oilfield contracts and other legal documentation to comply with company contracting guidelines, and prepares associated documentation and advice.
Negotiating contracts and other legal document revisions with customers and subcontractors.
Providing risk assessments and advices Functional Managers or other Functions regarding various contractual risk issues.
Communicating and coordinates with division personnel and the business regarding contractual policies, procedures, approach and methods for solving complex problems.
Updating contracts database with entries for work performed and review status, and prepares periodic reports.
Conducting contract training seminars for company sales and marketing personnel and other departments.
Assisting in training new hires in contracts department.
Travelling, as required.
Handling special projects, as assigned.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you are required to have :
Bachelor of Laws degree (S.H.) or Master of Laws (LLM).
Minimum 7 years of related experience required, preferably in contract review and negotiations.
Experience working with internal or external customers as related to contracts review, contracts negotiations, contract management, and contract administration.
Experience in Oil and Gas industry will be an advantage.
Experience in Law firm and Multinational company will be an advantage.
Experience in reviewing complex and non-complex contracts effectively.
Experience promoting a Business Partner approach with operations and sales personnel to the extent of identifying approval issues under the Company’s Policy.
Knowledge of FCPA, Anti-boycott, Trade Sanctions, Export Controls and US and other applicable Regulatory Laws will be an advantage.
