Key Responsibilities

  • Using 2D and 3D software’s to analyze existing tooling designs and improve on them;
  • Developing blueprints for new tooling designs as per client or project specifications;
  • Sharing designs with colleagues and implementing any relevant feedback developing, testing and carrying out quality assurance tests;
  • Collaborate with the product and process teams to review and provide feedback on part designs relating to mold-ability, quality, and cost;
  • Continuous improvement of company tooling standards, tools and equipment;
  • Follow and Update PM requirements on tools;
  • Follow and update spare parts lists;
  • Assist mold maintenance in the repair of tools;
  • Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals;
  • Scheduling meetings with management and other relevant personnel as required;
  • Work with tooling suppliers to trial and approve new tools for shipment;
  • Traveling to manufacturing plants and factories to gather information and liaise with manufacturing and design teams;
  • Coordinate the repair of tooling at outside vendors.


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline, a master’s degree is preferable;
  • 5+ Years relevant work experience in tooling;
  • Proficient in CATIA V5 and Solid Works;
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings;
  • Working knowledge of QS9000, ISO14001 and TS16949 standards, as applicable to the position;
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-pace organization handling multiple assignments simultaneously;
  • Analytical, well organized, reliable, and a good work attitude;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook).
