Job Summary
Assists senior risk manager in implementing Zurich’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and running an efficient and effective risk management function at a local business area, Business Unit or function level, ensuring a consistent and efficient adherence to the Group’s risk management framework. Supports promotion of sound risk awareness culture by linking strategy, day-to-day business execution and reward system to risk, in order to support the decision making process for business area, Business Unit or function.
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Risk Management area
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Risk Management area
Preferred:
ARM
Ability to balance priorities and multi-task
Excellent customer focus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytic problem solving
Experience in project management and process development
Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
Provide senior risk management with information required to enable a 360 degree view of risk of the business or functional area in scope.
Conducts risk assessments and investigations according to priorities assigned.
Flag significant matters of concerning risks for assigned areas to senior risk management.
Provide support in all risk management activities for a business area, business unit or function and represent the risk function in case of absence.
Provide support for Risk Governance and Risk Reporting processes (for example Assurance Coordination, Risk & Control Committee, Risk Reporting).
Provide support for Zurich Risk Policy Adherence and monitoring process .
Provide support for and conducting operational risk management activities (for example risk assessments or implementing other risk framework components).
Support senior risk management in partnering with business/functional management.
Compile risk reports based on available information, providing consistent and reliable information for risk-related decision taking.
Support the risk management function in the promotion of the Group Risk Management Framework to ensure it is sufficiently understood and implemented in the organization
Business Accountabilities
Monitor the adequacy of the internal control systems of the areas assigned, ensuring that all strategic and operational risks are duly quantified, monitored and documented including risk mitigation actions to ensure risk is adequately addressed.
Research risk management data sources, select relevant information, analyze key themes and trends, and make recommendations which support an effective and efficient risk management framework.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk awareness by conducting reviews of internal control systems and initiating change to ensure risks responses adequately reflect changes of the environment.
Provide risk management advice to address specific queries regarding risk identification, quantification, avoidance and risk mitigation to ensure the organization´s compliance with risk policies and processes as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
Support management of internal relationships, including with the local risk officer, the finance team and any key stakeholder within the First Line of Defense in the context of the risk-related activities, to enable increased awareness of strategic risks, propose risk mitigation strategies and facilitate identification of remediation actions.
Perform assurance reviews to ensure risk and control measures are designed and operating effectively
Supports senior risk manager in interaction with other assurance functions (2nd and 3rd line of defense).
