YKAN has been supporting improved natural resource planning and management in Indonesia for more than 25 years, including work with governments, private sectors, and local communities. Since 2017, Indonesia Terrestrial Program (ITP) of YKAN has been developing and implementing shared conservation agenda (SCA), with the grand strategy of Indonesia’s forest. This grand strategy is under global priority of climate change mitigation and adaptation. YKAN has set a 2030 SCA goals for Indonesia forest. To achive these goals, YKAN implements four interlinked strategies: (1) Climate change mitigation and adaptation policy framework (2) Sustainable forestry (3) Sustainable oil plam, and (4) Community-based forest conservation.
The Sustainable Oil Palm Senior Manager leads, manages, and implements all aspects of YKAN’s oil palm program in Indonesia.
The Sustainable Oil Palm Senior Manager leads, manages, and implements all aspects of YKAN’s oil palm program in Indonesia. This position is a member of Indonesia Terrestrial Program Senior Manager Team (SMT) and is accountable for oil palm related outcomes under the direction of the Terrestrial Program Director.
This position will work with various partners, including government institutions, business association and private sector, and other civil society organizations to transform the oil palm production and supply chains. This position serves as the principal contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations and academic community on issues related to oil palm.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
