Associate Director – Brand Strategy

The role is part of the Brand Strategy domain specializing in research that form foundational pieces for brands to define their strategy. Role offers exciting opportunities in addressing strategic brand issues through research aiding brand positioning, portfolio management, driving differentiation, targeting prioritization, brand architecture and other elements of brand strategy. It offers an opportunity to engage with some of the biggest brands in Indonesia and become advisors to their strategy. The role promises to accelerate one’s learning curve through intellectually challenging work in a high growth market like Indonesia.

Key Outcomes

  • Assume the role of a strategic advisor to clients and develop deep relationships with senior marketing clients.

  • Maintain Kantar Indonesia’s status as the leading market research agency for Brand Strategy issues in the market.

  • Drive reputation for Kantar Indonesia by becoming a leading voice in the market on brand building and strategy through thought leadership.

  • Grow the Brand Strategy domain both in business volume terms and with quality and depth of research.

  • Independently maintain and drive both existing and new client relationships. Engage with C-level clients and senior leadership.

  • People leadership managing a team of researchers towards fulfilling the objectives of the Brand Strategy domain.

Capabilities

  • 8-10 years of market research experience. Working with a market research agency or Brand/Business strategy consultant.

  • Extensive experience in exploratory research like conducting Consumer Segmentations, U&As, market understanding, mapping consumer behaviour, demand spaces, brand strategy and brand positioning studies.

  • Strong business development skills with experience of engaging C-level audience (CEOs, Marketing Heads, Business Heads) is preferable.

  • Workshop facilitation skills, experience of running workshops is a must.

  • Experience of working with Tech & Start-ups is an advantage. Past experience with undertaking exploratory & foundational studies for FMCG, CPG, Telco, Automotive, Finance clients will be considered.

  • Good story telling abilities. Exposure to new areas like Behavioural Sciences, Growth hacking frameworks, data-agnostic consultancy incorporating multi-source data will be an advantage.

  • Sound leadership experience with people management capabilities – to empower, mentor, and be the role model and encouraged juniors
