As Legal Director, you’ll ensure high quality (including being proactive, pragmatic and solutions focused) legal services to the GSK Philippines & Indonesia Consumer Healthcare business (including commercial, manufacturing, R&D operations) to enable the achieving of strategies and business objectives of these markets in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
This role will report directly to the Assistant General Counsel, SEAT & Wider Asia Consumer Healthcare. Location of role in Philippines or Indonesia under consideration
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to be a member of the Philippines and Indonesia Consumer Healthcare “CH” Leadership Teams and RMCBs and other leadership teams (including for manufacturing) relating to Philippines or Indonesia CH and be involved in providing or procuring and supervising the provision of legal support to the business and operations in these markets

Providing and ensure the provision of high quality legal support (including advice and contracting) to all aspects of the CH business and operations in Philippines and Indonesia including but not limited to Commercial/ Medical/ Government Affairs/ Communications / IT/ GMS/ Procurement/ Commercial Excellence/ Regulatory Affairs/ Finance and Treasury function/ Human Resources, etc.
Being a key stakeholder in relevant business team meetings and risk management compliance boards.
Anticipating and proactively supporting the prevention and management of legal risks facing the business/operations (including participating in work to appropriately influence legislative developments, developing, reviewing and recommending policies and practices presenting potential legal risks and educating the internal clients on legal developments and policies and relevant laws and regulations impacting the business
Supporting internal and external investigations and all forms of disputes (including employment and promotional claims); and communications with the regulators / authorities
Developing, reviewing, advising and recommending policies and practices on issues presenting potential legal risks and educating the internal clients on legal developments and policies
Conducting or coordinating research on legal issues
Managing Legal budget and the engagement of external legal counsel
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and other legal documents, and reviewing business, scientific, commercial, and sales/marketing documents/communications and advise on risks and appropriate strategy/language to manage risks while maximizing business benefit
Liaising with other departments and the above-country teams (e.g. Compliance, Audit and Assurance, Business Development, Investigations, Category, R&D, IP etc.) to ensure the integration of the full range of considerations impacting legal recommendations
Being the first point of contact for the Philippines and Indonesia business on legal advice needed for these markets. This role will where required work with lawyers with global responsibility (including Category or R&D or Supply Chain lawyers etc) or subject matter experts to ensure well-rounded legal advice provided to the business that aligns with any centrally mandated position or taps into relevant experience or expertise

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Bachelor of Law degree and qualified to practice law in Philippines or Indonesia
At least 10 years PQE in a combination of both in-house (multinational) and law firm contexts
Must be willing and able to travel as needed on business.
