Job Purpose

The Country Cluster Delegation (CCD) for Indonesia,Timor Leste and Representative to ASEAN, Jakarta has 67 staff in Jakarta and Dili, Timor Leste. As part of its duty of care, the IFRC CCD provided support to its staff by providing access to a professional and confidential psychological counseling service.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides individual counselling sessions upon request to IFRC staff while maintaining full confidentiality;
  • Monitors the determinants of stress in the Federation Office, as well as stress levels among the Federation staff. Provides this information (without any reference to individuals, thus protecting anonymity) to IFRC CCD HR;
  • Plan, organize and lead one-hour brown bag talks at the Federation office with mental health/ wellbeing topics as per defined schedule;
  • Reinforce and support self-assessments and knowledge of such methods;
  • Provide critical incident debriefings to staff as needed;
  • Maintain a regular contact with PSS Counsellor in the Asia Pacific Region office;
  • Maintain a regular form of communication with the Office;
  • Contribute to the PSS Annual report and to any statistics on request;
  • Provide reports on request;
  • Abides by the IFRC code of conduct in their dealings with all staff;
  • Appointments with the Counsellor are strictly personal and confidential. The Counsellor is not required to divulge information about appointments and their contents, not the names of staff that have accessed the service.

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in psychology;
  • Master degree in clinical psychology is preferred;
  • Registered as Clinical Psychologist in Indonesia.

Experience

  • At least 3 plus years of relevant technical experience in the mental health fields or similar (psychology, psychotherapy, psychiatry etc);
  • Work experience in the international humanitarian world, operating in emergencies.

Knowledge, Skills and Language

  • Knowledge and belief in the 7 Fundamental Principles of the IFRC;
  • Efficient and skilled record-keeping;
  • Demonstrable high level of professional and personal integrity;
  • Promotes and values team diversity;
  • Communicates clearly and effectively;
  • Self-supported in computing systems;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Clear, open and transparent;
  • Ability to work with multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams in a cross functional environment;
  • Able to perform presentation for larger groups and creating-delivering relevant workshops;
  • Self-motivated and innovative, can work under stressful situations;
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability with clients and can working in multi-cultural context;
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and in English is preferred. Other language: an asset.

Competencies and Values

  • Availability for short visits to surrounding countries at short notice;
  • Being available to provide psychosocial support outside regular working hours as the situation requires.
