Job Description

In your role as a Senior Industrial Engineer you will work as a Change Agent on optimizing performance and drive value leadership. The job is to be a “catalyst for change” and you will initiate and drive game-changing workstreams to optimize our cost-to-serve for our customers and support Mars to become a more efficient, agile and lean company.

As a Senior Industrial Engineer, you will play a significant role in the development of our local supply strategies in close collaboration with a vast stakeholder network. The role supports the execution of these strategies, drives operational excellence and establishes a high level of networking.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Supply, Production, R&D, Supply Chain, technical division, Knowledge of internal manufacturing and major business processes, FMCG in food/chemical company would be a benefit
  • Significant change management experience
  • Understanding of improvement tools as SIXSIGMA, Kaizen, 5S
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Senior Leaders and stakeholders
  • Track record in leading step-change initiatives / Best practice roll out
  • Eager to analyze and inspired by maximizing value
  • Fluent in English

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Be an active member of the Site Leadership Team guiding and supporting the overall site strategy.
  • Leading transformative change within the factories through MSE
  • Leading and Developing Direct Report plus indirect development responsibilities site-wide
  • Lead the continued implementation of the Mars Supply Excellence Operating System by fostering readiness and maturity with the pillar structure (standardized work, FMOS, problem solving, strategy deployment and continuous improvement).
  • Lead, teach and coach associates at all levels lean thinking/principles, tools, systems and metrics.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure a capable and coordinated TPM/MSE based continuous improvement journey
  • Partner with the Technical & Reliability Leader to ensure the ongoing seamless integration of TPM activities into the Lean Operating System.
  • Partner with the Regional MSE Director and Regional Supply Training Manager to ensure the ongoing execution of training standards and utilization of supporting tools
  • Drive Lean training and implementation of a Lean toolkit: value stream mapping, pull systems, kanban, SMED, problem solving, Kaizen, heijunka, etc.
  • Facilitate and train others to facilitate kaizen events to achieve improvement, transfer knowledge, and engage team members and leaders in activities supporting the lean transformation as well as coaching ownership
  • Leading in quality with a secure license to operate, building enduring trust and delight in our products
  • Develop charters and initiatives for key focus areas in the value chain that can lead to direct impact on the business
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for Makassar Site, Noling site and Wotu Site certain processes in the value chain and whenever required escalate performance bottlenecks to LT and Regional LT
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in performance over the processes identified in the charters and strategic initiatives
  • Work closely with various teams to work out cost efficient sourcing solutions
  • Lead and responsible to measure key factory operation performance metrics and recommend action plans and identify gaps, opportunities, risks, threats and escalation to business for the improvement for site and Supply LT regional call.
  • Manage continuous improvement programs and be a project leader for critical continuous improvement activities.
  • IE Work with business areas to develop strategies for site master plan and the Current State Maps and Future State Plans and and capital project – CAB related and Asset Management
  • IE work with Prioritize improvement opportunities and review based upon tactical planning objectives including growth, delivery, safety, quality, cost and cash – Quest & Innovation
  • Lead and facilitate KPIs & KPB Measures and facilitating SCMR Meeting for Sales & Operating Plan (S&OP +) and monitoring involving with cross business areas cycle step from DMR, Integrated Reconcile to Management Business Review (MBR) and rise identify gaps, opportunities, risks,, threats and escalation to business
  • Provide strategic insight and leadership to capacity planning the SLT at Makassar, Noling and Wotu Site for asset, capacity and future efficiency.
