You will be part of ABB’s procurement & logistics function team. Striving to fulfill customers’ expectations through fault-less operational execution (safety, quality, and time), in an extended and transparent value chain and at the lowest possi-ble total cost. You will be a vital team member in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore team. As a buyer based in Jakarta, Indonesia, you will be the main liaison for specific industries in the procurement and logistics team. You are expected to work independently with a collaborative spirit. You will bridge all communications and take proper escalations to the Procurement & Logistics Manager based in Singapore. As a Buyer, you will maintain, improve, develop supply base to ensure continuous material supply in terms of better quali-ty, cost, delivery, and service. You will be responsible for supplier selection and development. Emphasis will also be placed on negotiating pricing, understanding the cost structures of key commodities, ensuring the timely delivery of material, monitoring, and improving supplier performance, meeting annual cost reduction goals, leading/supporting strategic projects, implementing process improvements where appropriate.

Your responsibilities

  • Identifying new suppliers in cooperation with relevant stakeholders Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality, HSE, and Engineering specialists
  • Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms, and conditions to achieve business targets
  • Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommending frame agreements to management and executes upon approval
  • Supporting bid and proposal, and project management teams by providing relevant market information and quotes
  • Supporting Sales & Bidding team during the bidding stage to optimize logistic costs
  • Designing and implementing plans for local sourcing to reach the business targets
  • Overseeing supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues escalated from local ID team
  • Conducting all Procurement & Logistics activities for all goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensuring SAP Ariba global supplier relationship management platform is kept updated as defined in SAP Ariba procedure
  • Examples include but not limited to: Savings Report (SFDB)
  • Applying standards on health, safety, environment and business ethics within operational work, contract management and negotiations
  • Supporting PAPI Indonesia’s indirect spend activities as follows, but not limiting to:
  • End to End P2P process for department’s Indirect Spend (Purchase Requisition and Follow up with IM&S) – Eg: Safety PPEs, Stationaries, Refreshments.
  • Department transportation management – Car rental, Review and Ap-prove Car expenses with Operational Car, GRAB and Travel Agent.
  • Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms, and conditions to achieve business targets.
  • Supporting Sales & Bidding team during the bidding stage to optimize logistic costs.
  • Support PAPI Indonesia’s indirect spend activities as follows, but not limiting to:

Your background

  • Education background related to engineering and/or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Good knowledge in Indonesia’s and Singapore’s procurement, logistics, and customs’ requirements.
  • 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in source, procure to pay activities – end to end.
  • Demonstrated experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and standard operating procedures; SAP experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PPT).
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills in both Indone-sian and English languages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, willing to manage different tasks under high pressure.
  • Willing to learn and work on continuous improvement project
