Job Description

Role Summary:

Flowserve is now hiring for a Buyer to join our team.

This position will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing and expediting orders to meet scheduled shipment dates of completed order to customers while ensuring that quality is not compromised and profit margins are maximized.

Responsibilities & Requirements: Job Responsibility:

  • To source, negotiate and process direct and indirect materials purchases that comply with the agreed upon specifications, requirements and pricing with suppliers.
  • To develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure a continued supply of critical materials and services and to access its performance and capabilities to comply with our expectations and requirements.
  • To focus on smooth and accurate issuance of purchase orders and ensure suppliers on-time requirements are met.
  • To ensure accurate and timely procurement; and expediting of materials and components
  • To support production planner and supervisor in maintaining minimum raw materials inventory levels consistent with production schedule requirements without incurring stock-out condition.
  • To be responsible for monitoring and expediting purchasing parts and materials to ensure on-time supply of direct and indirect material for manufacturing and timely delivery of orders.
  • To work closely with suppliers and customers to ensure stock consignment are recorded accurately and timely in accordance to accounting policy.
  • To optimize cost-saving opportunities and strengthen supplier base and infrastructure.
  • To maintain current cost book and lead-time and to perform cost estimation for sales quotation purpose as required.
  • To perform cost estimation on projects for bidding purposes.
  • To be responsible for compliance with import and export regulations, both internal and statutory.
  • To provide timely and accurate supply chain reports as and when required.
  • To maintain a database of vendor quotations / prices / lead times etc.
  • To maintain PO book log and provide supplier performance reports.
  • Any other duties as assigned by superiors.

Role Requirement:

  • Minimum requirement of a Diploma in Supply Chain Management or any related courses.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within Procurement for a fast-paced manufacturing industry handling both domestic and international supply chain activities.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Candidates with working experience in mechanical or electrical field are preferred
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to manage suppliers and vendors.
  • A self-motivated team player
  • Computer literate, ideally with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • SAP experience.
