Your future role

Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for a suitably qualified Production Supervisor at our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia. Reporting to the Production Manager and this role will require regular supervise and provide leadership to Team Leads assigned to manufacturing or shop floor areas and workshop operations to improve safety, efficiency, productivity, and quality that align with Austin’s organisational strategy and operational requirements

Role duties:

Supervise Workshop in Daily tie-in with production management to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned in fabrication stations.
Assign Coordinators and Team to specific tasks or stations, monitor processes to ensure that employees perform them correctly.
Overseeing and directing the activities of fabrication line employees.

Monitor the entire fabrication process to prevent delays and provide instruction when necessary.
Determines priorities when resources are insufficient and decides when disciplinary action is necessary.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
Works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
Ensures the quality of product produced and conforms to Austin’s Quality Policy
Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsible for training and development of staff, time keeping, estimating personnel needs.
Assigning work, meeting completion dates, and ensuring consistent application of value stream needs.
Deploys Root Cause Corrective Action on issues that arise and drive continuous improvement.
Leads efforts to develop and deploy standard work for fabrication each work area that arise and drive continuous improvement, leads efforts to develop and deploy standard work for each work area.
Includes motivating and inspiring teams, helping individuals grow and improve, assisting other team-related responsibilities such as performance reviews, goal setting and conflict resolution.
Although day-to-day job will be to enable your people to achieve the right operational matters.
Lead, direct and control its implementation within all operation, concerning operational safety and environmental sustainability (K3 & Environment).

MANDATORY QUALIFIFCATIONS & LICENCES

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

Degree in technical discipline and experience in a plate fabrication, or Workshop Supervisor in heavy industries.
Senior High School with Minimum 5 (five) years of experience of similar role in manufacturing industries.
Strong manufacturing background in mining equipment/plate fabrications (preferred involved in customized dump truck bodies, buckets and ancillary products used in the mining industries
At least 3 (three) year prior experience in supervisory role.
Able to use Microsoft office.
Familiar with operations practices in fabrication, workshop, construction, structural, metal fabrication/metallurgy/die/ welding & design/engineering.
Able to lead, organize manpower, supportive, communicative, and able to work under pressure are preferred character traits
Able to read Engineering drawings, understand welding defects and have leadership, motivate, inspire your team, and help individuals grow and develop within the organization
Applicable for Resident Citizen. Applicants from Batam are highly prioritized.
Work placement: Batam, Indonesia. .
Proficient Computer application proficiency, holding inspector certificate (Welding Inspection or Coating Inspection or Piping Inspector, etc.) obtain C. SWIP, BGAS, AWS, IWS, etc. will be an advantage
