We are looking for a talented category lead to join our team. The desired candidate will be a merchandising, procurement or sourcing manager in the grocery/ distributor business with strong industry know-how in the Indonesian market
The day-to-day activities:
Develop knowledge of SKUs assortment (Fresh and Grocery); identify margin opportunities by suppliers and SKUs
Manage a selection SKU catalog by country and adjust SKU and category coverage based on localized customer preferences
Identify and negotiate with key suppliers for categories within assortment strategy
Track and monitor merchandising cost/ margin goals
Support business teams at various stages; for example, providing a fact base, structuring and helping with issue identification and solutioning, advising on the practicalities of implementation or leading actual execution
Support top management in performing analyses to enable data-driven decision making
The must-haves:
Minimum 7 years work experience as a merchandising or sourcing manager for a supermarket, hypermarket, or distributor
Min. Bachelor's degree from a reputable University
Experience with online digital sales channels and on-demand marketplace models preferred
Strong people and stakeholder management experience
Strong ability to use and analyse data to inform decisions
Familiarity with spreadsheets, business planning, financial modelling, process mapping and project management tools
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively network within the industry and the overall Grab business
