The Video Editor will be responsible for all post-production edits on video footage, especially for our client brands’ social media. We’re looking for a multi-faceted candidate with strong storytelling capabilities, who also has a pulse on current social media video trends—especially Instagram and TikTok.
On a limited basis, the candidate will serve as a videographer on set in a small-scale production or event; experience in videography for simple social content and knowledge of cameras is a plus.
The Video Editor will work closely alongside an in-house team of content developers, designers, and reports to the associate creative director.
This person must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment and be able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
– Primary focus will be on editing videos for social media and digital content.
– Produce and edit social first video for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & Twitter.
– Participate in brainstorms to develop social video concepts and storylines.
– Work with designers on custom formats to match each client’s design identity.
– When required, attend events to capture social content which can be posted cross-platform.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s Degree is required.
– 2+ year of experience working in social media/digital content.
– Good communication skills, verbal and written.
– Ability to edit videos in a timely manner.
– Extensive experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or comparable software required. Experience in Illustrator & Photoshop a plus. Color grading/correction and basic motion graphics skills are highly preferred.
– Experience with digital campaigns and ads across platforms, content creation and curation across platforms.
– Strong understanding of production and post-production workflow as well as social media/broadcast/streaming platform deliverables.
– Excellent organization and time management skills with initiative.
– Ability to identify trending topics and emerging trends in social video.
– Stay abreast of content and technology trends in the entertainment, video production and motion graphic trends, and suggest new ways to implement these.
– A knowledge of camera operation and shooting would be a huge bonus, but this role will be primarily editing.
