Job Description

Purpose of the position Product Engineer is focusing on technical sales support for pulp and paper mills from Cikarang location, Indonesia. He/she is working together with Mill Sales Managers, Product Sales Manager and Roll Workshop team to identify and clarify customer needs, making technical specifications, quotations, support sales team for toward successful contracts with customers and ensure the smooth project and delivery process. He/she is communicating with business unit, technology unit specialists to keep updated with products, service production process and application policy as well as implementing product strategies in responsible market areas. He/she is to be aware of market situation and playing important roles to support/drive Roll business to achieve multi-dimensional targets. Areas of responsibility
  • Make technical specifications and quotations to customers.
  • Participate in project delivery process and customer claim handling
  • Visit customers with sales team to support sales for roll products, including participation in commercial discussions, seminars and marketing actions.
  • Keep updated with product information, production process, and application policy.
  • Support sales for targets setting, budgets, product strategies, implementation plans.
  • Review of results against target, analyze profitability and propose actions as well as implementation and follow up.
  • Support cross-function/bundling sales, agreement business.
  • Follow corporate and location policy.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Technical-information support for application usage, cover specification, troubleshooting, claim handling- inspection, follow up cost, pre-investigation/validation of information prepare project bundling proposal for sales-provide performance warranty proposal, Roll covering contract proposal (Roll covering agreement)- agreement with customer
  • Project handling: follow up with workshop and customers for related maintenance issue, delivery plan
  • Service onsite
  • Present new products, technical to customers
  • Expert in service item (which product to use)
  • Perform according to Quality, Safety, Environmental and other company’s’ management system, policies, practices and instructions.
Basic requirements of the position
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experiences in sales, engineering, production or machine services in relation to pulp & paper Roll business or similar.
  • Good knowledge in engineering and analytical skills, commercial awareness and service minded, computer literacy and good presentation/communication skills.
  • Fluent in local mother language
  • Good command of English in writing, reading, listening and speaking.
  • Willing to learn and expose to new challenges with good cooperation, positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
  • Result oriented mindset and able to travel both domestic and overseas.
