Job Description:
Leverage a deep understanding of local consumer & customer needs to brief market-specific requirements to drive the in-market execution for, and support the selection of, winning product assortments. Build rich and well-informed perspectives on local market dynamics, cultural influences, general trends and competitive intelligence. Support building product assortments from the cluster/regional product line across all categories/channels. Lead marketplace mapping, assortment segmentation, and in-season merchandising.
Job Responsibilities:
Consumer Focus
Apply knowledge of local consumer and market nuances to inform Cluster decisions
Conduct targeted consumer/competitor product research within the market to inform product strategy
Ensure that consumer is the center of all product decisions for specific channel/category
Marketplace Expertise
Collect, organize and represent the local consumer, market & competitor landscape – including information on product, pricing, assortment architecture, styling, collaborations, key messaging & store environment
Use these observations, insights & knowledge to make recommendations for category strategies
Collaborate with the SEA Cluster team to offer market relevant product solutions
Inform the Flex DTC assortment and the Wholesale assortments
Identify new opportunities that may deviate from line plan
Pricing
Inform local product pricing – in accordance with Cluster price corridors, pricing architecture, and the product differentiation strategy – to deliver financial targets for the market
Use competitor pricing information to make recommendations on price positioning for assortment
In-market Assortment Execution
Lead merchandising-related in-season execution/activities within the market
Influence and collaborate with commercial & cross-functional teams to ensure adoption of key Regional & Market Initiatives, Big Bets, and Products
Lead delivery of the Assortment Investment Strategy & Products to the in-market Commercial, MP, Marketing, IM & Partner teams, based on the seasonal ranking and tiering strategy
Identify & align Market exceptions to the Cluster style ranking
Lead presentation and workshopping of the assortment with customers and cross-functional teams
Ongoing Business Performance & Analysis
Lead Merchandising aspects in ongoing country business performance monitor & react meetings
Build & share regular business product performance analysis to with the Cluster/cross-functional team
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with the cross-functional Regional/Cluster/Market teams & partners to drive positive business results
Provide timely direction through clear communication to all cross-functional Regional/Market team members
Listen to others with a desire to understand – inspire and build trust with all members of the team
Influence others without formal authority
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in Consumer Merchandising, Planning or operations in Apparel/Lifestyle brands
Strong written & spoken communication skills – must be a strong story-teller, with an ability to clearly articulate a point-of-view in order to influence partners and customers
Must have an ability to build strong relationships across Merchandising & cross-functional partners
Fluent with Microsoft Excel, and comfortable with Powerpoint & Word
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Demonstrated passion for the fashion & lifestyle industry
Be an ambassador for the culture of the brand within the Market
