Summary:The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time four weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Provides protection for U.S. government employees, visitors, facilities, and equipment from violent attacks, demonstrations, intruders, and theft. Incumbent must conduct access control and visitor screening duties as a member of a local guard program. Incumbent conduct inspections focusing on the access control at the New Consulate Compound construction site. Incumbent must respond and assist with routine and emergency occurrences at the construction site to ensure that no situation exists which threatens the safety or security of Embassy/Consulate employees or property.
EXPERIENCE: 1 (one) year of previous military or police, security related duties required
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Guard Orders, the emergency notification process, experienced with state-of-the-art security equipment, emergency alarms, public address system and radio communication. Knowledge of local cultural norms and customs is required.
Mandatory: Completion of secondary education is required.
Evaluations:LANGUAGE: Rudimentary level in English and good working knowledge in Bahasa Indonesia is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, be reliable, dependable, firm, courteous and tactful. Must be able to comprehend orders and directives quickly. Ability to take clear and decisive action especially during emergency situations. Ability to use fire extinguisher. Ability to use personal protective equipment (i.e. PR-24, straight batons, handcuffs/flexi-cuffs, etc.). Daily duties may involve overtime, extended periods of walking and/or standing in a wide variety of weather conditions.
