Project Overview

Pluto Train is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility. Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~ 225 Terajoules per day. On 1 January 2022, Woodside issued Full Notice to Proceed (FNTP) to Bechtel (Western Australia) Pty Ltd and Bechtel International, Inc (Bechtel) for the Pluto Train 2 Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope of work. Woodside is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source

Position Overview

The Planner will perform schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and detailed planning activities under the supervision of the lead planner for the Pluto Train 2 project at the module yard located on Batam Island, Indonesia.

What you bring

• Reviews schedule work logics with construction supervision and superintendent to find whether the schedules adequately support the overall project schedule.
• Plans, coordinates, and establishes the level of quantification appropriate to the objectives of the effort and to the level of scope definition for the scope of Team 1 for source data and/or reconciliations of quantities. Reviews completeness and reasonableness of quantities.
• Independently plan, organize, and supervise schedule resource loading & leveling, and maintain achievable, logic driven project schedules that integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and pre-commissioning work scope into a total project plan that meets the project’s delivery objectives.
• May interface with designated Bechtel management and client counterparts for specific planning and scheduling tasks. Prepares presentation and presents planning and scheduling information to management/clients.
• Responsibilities include the collection, verification, and integration of work scope for Team 1 into the total Module Yard plan. Establishes the conceptual scope of schedule studies. Prepares and examines comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between budget and current forecast.
• Performs productivity analysis of construction operations and verifies results. Establishes productivity basis to be utilized in estimates, as developed in concurrence with Construction. Reviews labor estimates for reasonableness.
• Plans and forecasts milestones for the Module Yard scope or major portions of the project. Reviews project work activities to ensure the support of project milestones. Coordinates the timely, systematic, and complete acquisition of scope definition and related data.
• Reviews and evaluates schedule durations for all disciplines’ activities and other considerations affecting activity duration and relative to the Team 1 project milestones.
• Monitoring and maintenance of all bulk commodity release and installation curves. Integrates appropriate staffing requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to the overall project needs. Finds quantity and staffing levels in support of the project needs and schedule philosophy.
• Able to support lead planner to direct others in obtaining required schedule information by all disciplines. Works with others departments in identifying schedule restraints and their effects on the total project schedule to ensure an understanding of the total project schedule needs.
• Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdiscipline or group restraints and interfaces.
• Able to support the lead planner to compile, summarize, update, and maintain historical schedule data. Monitors and reports critical-path and schedule performance of the total project.
• May be delegated to review schedule from bidders against the RFQ criteria and prepares bid evaluations including participating in discussions with vendors.
• Perform project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to find criticality of schedule activities for the scope assigned. Recommends alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.
• Able to leads working level schedule meetings – both routine and special purpose to ensure project schedule is progressing as plan
• Coordinates information input into specific studies as assigned by the Lead planner. Responsible for integration of activities and total work scope identification. Evaluates study results and recommends conclusions for project team consideration and discussion. Supervises/directs project schedule workforce and quantity reporting.
• Prepares and presents the Schedule Impact Analysis. Leads the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans under the scope of purview.

About you

• Minimum 8+ Years of relevant work experience with 3+ years on jobsite
• Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office.
• The candidate must have experience in scheduling activities for large projects, and able to supports/performs project organizational and administrative activities as well as demonstrated skill in identifying, assessing, and providing innovative solutions to planning and scheduling problems.
• Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision. This includes using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 office suite, with intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
• Skilled in oral and written communication.
• Experience on lump sum LNG projects with direct hire construction strategy
• Experience on modularization project at module yard
• Occasional business travel to the project site in Australia or Bechtel Engineering offices may be required
• Knowledge of PowerBI and SAP is a plus
• Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently
• Demonstrate leadership skills to lead planning team in absence of the Lead Planner
