This role will be reporting to the Regional Manufacturing Senior Director and this role will be based at Firmenich manufacturing plant at Cileungsi.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership:
Identify and drive the fundamental changes necessary to orient plant team behavior towards customer needs and ensure sustainable performance aligned with business requirements;
Builds, motivate and lead the plant community in line with Firmenich core values;
Ensure leadership in HS&E and QA;
Lead implementation of OPEX organization to develop a performance driven culture by implementing Continuous Improvement/Lean principles and concepts through the value chain.
Develop and implement Capex plan/HSE initiatives in alignment with company strategy and values.
Lead collective relationship with employees (blue/white collar) at site level (including leading CE, CPPT, union delegation and union negotiation) in line with delegation of General Management.
Manage relationship with local, regional, national authorities including public communication (regional, city, fire brigade, permit issues)
Ensure that company strategy and values are cascaded within workforce to foster an environment where all employees are motivated and committed to give their best.
Strategic:
Build and cascade jointly with the business the site mission & objectives in line with the global & regional strategy to meet business requirements;
Ensure alignment between SC and business; Identify and define with the business the key site projects that will fundamentally change and differentiate the SC over the next strategy period; Set priorities and allocate resources accordingly;
Develop and maintain a site master plan supporting achievement of business objectives;
Identify, retain & develop key talents.
Operational:
Manage and control the plant operation (Planning, Manufacturing, QA/QC, internal logistics & shipping, maintenance, sampling,...) with full responsibility to achieve short and medium term financial and operating objectives set by business management;
Develop, implement, report, set targets and control a set of KPI's to support achievements of plant objectives;
Report timely to management the defined global plant KPI's and related comments (evtl. corrective action plans) demonstrating progress on achieving defined plant targets;
Develop, implement and maintain necessary plant operating policies & procedures in close collaboration with corporate subject matter expert to assure implementation of relevant corporate guidelines and assure plant meets business and corporate requirements in any aspect;
Ensure successful execution of the key SC projects agreed with the business that will enable the necessary changes to meet business requirements;
Manage, evaluate and develop the plant team;
Guarantees full compliance to rules & regulations established by local or regional authorities;
Guarantees company ethics and ensure Firmenich fundamentals are embedded in daily operations.
To animate employee gatherings and communicate company results, plans and Group strategies (e.g. Prime Meeting).
To act as a spokesperson inside and outside the company. Internally, to champion company strategies, culture, ethics, and values.
We value:
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or Food Technology.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a leading position in a manufacturing environment, producing chemicals, ingredients or consumer products
